Fans of Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses series will have two new ways to engage with the world of Prythian this October. Goliath Games is releasing an original strategy board game, ACOTAR - Fate & Favor, while a themed Monopoly edition is also set to debut.
Fate & Favor is designed for one to seven players, tasking them with competing for influence among the High Lords and Ladies of Prythian's seven courts: Night, Day, Dawn, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. The game involves forging alliances, navigating shifting loyalties, and utilizing character abilities, court powers, event cards, and fate tokens to shape destinies. Created by fans of the series, the game features detailed gameplay and artwork inspired by the books. It is recommended for players aged 14 and older, similar to the novels. Fate & Favor is scheduled for release on October 11th and is available for preorder at Target for $24.99. A special "Bookseller Variant" with exclusive packaging will also be available at select bookstores, though its contents will be identical to the standard edition.
Additionally, a Monopoly: A Court of Thorns and Roses Special Edition board game will be released on October 1st for $39.99. Several variants are planned, including an Amazon-exclusive green edition and a classic red version matching the first book's cover. This adaptation replaces traditional Monopoly locations with places from the ACOTAR series, and its game tokens include items such as Feyre's Bow. The game also features manors and palaces in place of houses and hotels.
This move into tabletop gaming follows similar adaptations for other popular romantasy series, such as Fourth Wing, which received its own Monopoly and Priorities board games. Unlike those, Fate & Favor is an entirely original game concept rather than a reskin of an existing title. The sixth book in the ACOTAR series is also slated for release on October 27th.
