Beast of Reincarnation features a variety of formidable bosses, including Nushi encountered in each region and dangerous Malefacts. Players will frequently battle many of these bosses multiple times, with some gaining additional phases in subsequent encounters. Understanding these upcoming challenges can help players prepare adequately for Emma and Koo's journey.

Boss Mechanics and Preparation

A key characteristic of many boss encounters in Beast of Reincarnation is the requirement to defeat them multiple times. For Nushi bosses, this often means an initial fight focusing on a single phase, followed by a later battle that includes at least two distinct phases. Furthermore, some bosses, particularly the Nushis, possess multiple health bars within a single fight. This means a boss's health can fully regenerate at the start of a new phase, demanding players remain vigilant until the battle is definitively concluded.

Early Encounters: Rangifer and Lacerta

The first Nushi players will confront is Rangifer in Chapter 1. This boss is fought twice, with the initial encounter introducing its first phase and the second battle revealing its second phase. Notably, the second fight against Rangifer includes two health bars. Rangifer primarily attacks with antler swings and can also launch seed projectiles or charge forward. The second fight adds a jump attack to its repertoire.

Lacerta, the second Nushi, is battled twice in Chapter 2. This boss has the ability to inflict Slow and Poison status effects, making antidotes a useful countermeasure. Its attacks include a tail swing and jaw snaps. During the fight, Lacerta may submerge and summon smaller enemies. Similar to Rangifer, Lacerta's second encounter in Chapter 2 features two phases and two health bars, with its attacks becoming significantly more potent when its health drops to 50%.

The Nue Malefact and Taurus

The Nue Malefact, first encountered in Chapter 1, becomes a recurring threat throughout Chapter 3. Its attack patterns, including tail swipes, paw swipes, lunges, and occasional projectiles or lightning bolts, remain largely consistent across most encounters. The Nue Malefact is weak to poison, making Dokuzeri attacks a recommended strategy. In a significant twist, the final confrontation with the Nue Malefact in Chapter 3 introduces the Male Purifier as a companion boss. The Male Purifier employs melee and hair-based attacks. While this duo takes turns attacking, making it possible to focus on one at a time, both are susceptible to poison.

Taurus, the Nushi of Chapter 4, is weak to Acid damage. Utilizing Acid Arrows and Koo's Acid Bottle is advised, as Taurus's movement makes melee engagement difficult. This boss is also fought twice, with the second encounter featuring a second phase and health bar. Taurus attacks by swiping with its horns, lunging, summoning ground branches, and tossing bombs. The rematch introduces Golems as additional adversaries and a faster charge attack. Players will need to adapt to Taurus's increased attack speed in its second phase.
