A24 has unveiled details for the upcoming 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases of their hit film, Backrooms, which includes nearly three hours of bonus features. The special editions are currently available for preorder exclusively through the A24 Shop, with an expected shipping date in late August.

The 4K UHD edition is priced at $35, while the Standard HD Blu-ray is $30. Subscribers to the AAA24 membership program can receive a 10% discount on their purchase. These disc versions are exclusive to the A24 Store, though additional variants from other retailers may become available in the future.

Both editions are presented in packaging that highlights the distinctive yellow walls of the titular Backrooms. The outer slipcase features Renate Reinsve as Dr. Mary Kline, and the inner case offers a glimpse of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Clark. Upon opening the case, the design shifts to an image of Clark's experience in his furniture store before his journey into the Backrooms. The disc itself adopts the yellow theme and incorporates blue packing tape, a visual nod to Clark's method of marking "no-clipping" points.

Among the extensive bonus features are "Everything Must Go" bonus footage, a VFX deep dive and prop walkthrough with director Kane Parsons, and feature commentary with Parsons, VFX Supervisor Edward J Douglas, Sound Designer Eugenio Battaglia, and Composer Edo Van Breemen. The discs also include a featurette titled “Building the Backrooms,” VFX & Scene Breakdowns, and six collectible postcards depicting various uncanny rooms and objects from the film.

Backrooms marks the directorial debut of Kane Parsons, who previously developed lore and a video series based on the original internet copypasta. The liminal horror film has seen significant success since its release and has prompted early discussions about a potential sequel. The movie has also recently become available on digital platforms and is slated to stream on HBO Max later this year.
