Actress Inde Navarrette experienced a moment of surprise and excitement at Fanatics Fest in New York when a fan presented her with a rare, sealed copy of the 2009 game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The unexpected gift occurred as Navarrette was exiting the Javits Center following a panel appearance.
Video footage shared on social media captured Navarrette's astonished reaction to receiving the game, which was still in its display case. She exclaimed, "Oh my god!" upon realizing its identity and the significance of the 2009 version. The fan informed her that such copies have recently sold for substantial amounts, with some listings on eBay for Xbox 360 versions reaching as high as $20,000. Navarrette, however, affirmed her intention to keep the game, stating, "I'm not selling this one!" and hugged the item to her chest.
Navarrette, who has gained attention for her own gaming interests and Twitch streams, has a history with the Call of Duty franchise. She previously shared with GQ that her gaming journey began in childhood on the PlayStation 2, eventually progressing to shooters like Call of Duty and Halo. She also played story-driven games such as Red Dead Redemption, Outlast, and The Last of Us, the latter of which she streamed on Twitch to supplement her income after filming "The Obsession."
Her participation in streaming was a natural extension of her existing hobbies. "So for me, it was like, 'Oh, why not?' If I'm not working on a show and I love playing video games by myself and I love playing with friends, then why not stream? It became a lot of fun," she told the outlet.
Following the success of "The Obsession," Navarrette has reportedly met with discussions regarding potential roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, indicating a growing presence in the entertainment industry beyond her gaming ventures.
