AHOY Comics Reveals "Absolutely the Wrong Earth" and More at NYCC 2026

AHOY Comics used New York Comic Con 2026 to announce its upcoming slate of titles for 2027. Among the revealed books is "Absolutely the Wrong Earth," a new one-shot special that satirizes DC Comics's iconic Batman character.

This latest entry in AHOY's "The Wrong Earth" series, created by writer Tom Peyer and artist Jamal Igle, continues the multiverse concept introduced in the publisher's first title. "The Wrong Earth" features parallel heroes: the bright and campy Dragonflyman of Earth-Alpha and the dark, gritty Dragonfly of Earth-Omega. "Absolutely the Wrong Earth" promises to be an oversized, 40-page special, and it is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027.

Kindergarten Gulag

Scheduled for January 27, 2027, "Kindergarten Gulag" is a darkly comedic one-shot from writer Mark Russell and artist Mauricet, who previously collaborated on AHOY's "Thanksgiving." The story follows Igby, who awakens as the sole inmate in a prison run by a group of unsettlingly young children debating his fate. IGN described their previous collaboration "Thanksgiving" as "hilarious but disturbingly relevant."

Corduroy Road

Set to launch on January 6, 2027, "Corduroy Road" is a paranormal action and mystery story by writer Eric Palicki and artist Chris Peterson. The narrative centers on Paul Corduroy, a private investigator and monster killer who takes on cases the police cannot. The story begins with the murders of the Suydam family in Chicago and promises shocking revelations about Corduroy himself. The series is presented in the vein of "Hack/Slash" and "Something Is Killing the Children."

Dragonproof

AHOY Comics is also funding "Dragonproof" on Kickstarter for an early 2027 release. Written by Eric Palicki with art by Giulia Lalli, the story follows Ashleigh Cole, who discovers a wounded dragon and later develops dragonlike characteristics herself. Compelled by internal voices, Ash embarks on a mission to free captive dragons from a shadowy government organization. The book is described as funny, heartfelt, and action-packed, targeting adult readers who enjoyed "Buffy" and "Gargoyles," as well as post-YA readers of "Fourth Wing" and "ACOTAR."

These titles can be preordered at local comic shops.
