Creative Assembly has emphasized that Alien Isolation 2 will center on a new protagonist named Blake, effectively putting to rest theories suggesting Amanda Ripley would return as the main playable character.

Principal environment artist Archie Whitehead stated in an interview that Blake's narrative is the primary focus for the upcoming survival-horror title. "What I can say is the story focuses on Blake," Whitehead told GameSpot. "She's been sent to the colony. If you watch the trailer, you see this, like she's been sent there kind of as penance, like she's made a mistake."

This confirmation follows earlier statements from the development team throughout the summer, reinforcing Blake's central role. Developers have consistently highlighted Blake's story, suggesting a significant investment in her narrative arc, which makes continued speculation about a last-minute pivot to Ripley unlikely. The game is slated for release in 2027.

Despite the focus on Blake, Amanda Ripley is still expected to play a role in Alien Isolation 2. She appeared to narrate the demo showcased at Summer Game Fest, and it is anticipated that her presence will extend beyond simple narration. Options such as audio logs or even a physical appearance remain possibilities for her inclusion in the game. The developers seem keen to integrate Ripley in some significant capacity, even as the story progresses with Blake at its forefront.
