All Nippon Airways Unveils New Pokemon-Themed Jet for 30th Anniversary

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has launched a new Pokemon-themed airliner to commemorate the franchise's 30th anniversary. The aircraft, dubbed the "Green Pokemon Jet," began its inaugural service today with a flight from Haneda to Honolulu.

The exterior of the plane is adorned with popular Pokemon characters, including Bulbasaur and Pikachu, alongside Browt, a newer Pokemon introduced in "Winds and Waves." Inside, passengers will find Pokemon branding on headrest covers, paper cups, and napkins. The in-flight entertainment system will also feature Pokemon content, such as "Pokemon: The First Movie" and a compilation soundtrack from the show.

The Pokemon jet is scheduled to operate routes connecting Haneda Airport with various destinations in Okinawa, Kyushu, and Shikoku. This initiative marks ANA's latest engagement with the Pokemon franchise; in 2024, the airline released a safety video featuring Pokemon characters to educate passengers on flight safety procedures. ANA also produced a Pokemon-themed safety video in 2024.

This is not the first time Pokemon has been featured on an airline. In 2000, Japan Airlines introduced its own Pokemon-themed jets for domestic flights, complete with character designs and themed in-flight entertainment.
