SCS Software, the developers behind American Truck Simulator, have announced a new expansion that will take players to North Dakota. This follows the recent release of the Illinois DLC in May and continues the game's gradual eastward expansion across the United States.

The North Dakota expansion will allow players to deliver cargo to major cities including Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Minot, and Williston. In addition to these urban centers, the DLC will feature charming settlements like Medora, which is near Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Players can expect to encounter notable landmarks such as the World's Largest Buffalo in Jamestown, the sculptures along the Enchanted Highway, the Four Bears Bridge near New Town, the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot, and the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck.

While the expansion will feature the transport of agricultural and oil industry-related cargo across rolling prairies, the inclusion of these unique landmarks is expected to differentiate the North Dakota experience from other rural or 'big sky' regions already present in the game. The trailer showcases landmarks like a giant buffalo and a giant catfish, known as Wahpper. The notes also mention the potential appearance of Salem Sue, a 38-foot-tall giant cow visible from miles away, though it was not explicitly shown.

An official release date for the North Dakota expansion has not yet been provided. It joins other forthcoming DLCs for American Truck Simulator, including South Dakota, Indiana, and British Columbia. The British Columbia expansion is notable as the game's first foray into Canada and will expand the Pacific Northwest region of the in-game map.
