Apple has unveiled a slate of new and updated computing devices, highlighted by its first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro and an iPad Mini featuring an OLED display. These new products, along with refreshed MacBook Pro and iMac models, are now available for preorder, with a release date set for November 6.
The most significant addition is the MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR display, which brings touch functionality to macOS for the first time. This allows for familiar touch interactions like swiping, tapping, and pinch-to-zoom directly on the screen. The display also features a Dynamic Island at the top, replacing the traditional notch. Available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, these models are powered by either the M5 Pro or M5 Max chip. Pricing for the touchscreen MacBook Pro starts at $2,899, with fully configured models reaching up to $14,549. This release also marks the return of the glowing Apple logo on a MacBook.
The iPad Mini receives its first OLED display, paired with the new A20 Pro chip, which is also found in the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. This compact tablet features an 8.5-inch screen and supports Apple Pencil. The front-facing camera has been repositioned to the longer edge, aligning with other current iPad models. The new iPad Mini starts at $699.
For users who prefer a traditional laptop experience, Apple is also releasing a MacBook Pro laptop equipped with the new M6 chip. This model offers updated performance over its predecessor. Additionally, the iMac all-in-one desktop computer receives an M6 chip upgrade. This version comes standard with 16GB of unified memory and 256GB of storage, and is available in the same color options as the 2021 redesign. The iMac starts at $1,499.
All these newly announced devices are slated for release on November 6. Apple also recently made other products available for preorder, with some set to launch on November 13, and select retailers are offering minor discounts on some of these items.
