Apple has sent out invitations for its annual September event, scheduled to take place on September 9 at 10 AM PST. While the company has not officially disclosed the agenda, the event is widely anticipated to feature the unveiling of the latest iPhone and Apple Watch models.

Speculation is particularly high regarding the potential introduction of a foldable iPhone. Rumors of Apple exploring a foldable device have persisted for years, and the event's theme, "Surprise and Shine," has fueled these expectations. This potential release would place Apple later in the foldable market compared to competitors, but the company has a history of making established technologies mainstream successes.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Quo previously suggested that a foldable iPhone could arrive this year, though potentially in limited quantities. Quo projected shipments between 0.5 to 1 million units in the third quarter of 2026, representing about 10% of total shipments. Such a device would likely command a premium price, with comparisons drawn to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which launched at $2,100.

Beyond the rumored foldable, the iPhone 18 and its Pro variant are expected to retain the chassis introduced with the iPhone 17, which featured an improved camera design. Modest price increases are also anticipated across the new iPhone lineup, a trend consistent with recent price hikes on other Apple products, potentially attributed to supply chain pressures.
