Apple TV+ is set to release a variety of new content in October 2026, deviating from a strong Halloween theme in favor of original series, documentaries, and films. Notably, the service will offer "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" for free viewing on the weekend of October 17, even for non-subscribers.
New Series and Movies
October 2 marks the premiere of the second season of the animated series The Sisters Grimm, based on Michael Buckley’s graphic novels, which follows two sisters discovering a town filled with fairy tales. On the same day, the documentary The Last First: Winter K2 will be available, chronicling a group of climbers' attempt to ascend the second-highest mountain on Earth in 2021. This film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
Coming October 7, Small Prophets is a six-part comedy series about an aging man who turns to alchemy to find love. While it aired on BBC Two earlier this year, UK subscribers will not have access until 2027.
Inspired by the success of Barbie, Apple TV+ will release Matchbox the Movie on October 9. The film stars John Cena as a CIA agent who teams up with childhood friends to save the world.
Tenzing, based on the true story of Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary's first ascent of Mount Everest, will stream on October 16. The film, starring Genden Phuntsok and Tom Hiddleston, had a limited theatrical release beginning October 9.
Towards the end of the month, on October 21, the German dark comedy Where’s Wanda? returns for its second season, focusing on a family crisis involving their daughter. The month concludes with the premiere of Nocturne on October 30. This new Apple Original series, loosely based on Lars Kepler's crime novels, stars Liev Schreiber as a detective investigating a serial killer in a small Pennsylvania town.
