Apple has announced a trio of new smart home devices, including an updated Apple TV 4K, the second generation HomePod mini, and a brand-new smart home hub called Apple HomeView. Preorders for the Apple TV 4K and Apple HomeView are available now, with the HomePod mini 2 also ready for purchase.
Apple HomeView
The Apple HomeView is a new smart home hub featuring a screen and speaker, designed to integrate with various smart home devices such as lights, doorbells, and cameras. It supports up to six users and can access individual user data to provide personalized information like recipes or directions from messages and maps. The device also supports FaceTime calls and music playback. Apple HomeView is available for $299 in four color options and can be purchased with a stand or for wall mounting. Amazon is currently offering a select model for $289.99.
Apple TV 4K (4th Generation)
The latest Apple TV 4K is powered by the A19 chip, offering a performance increase of up to 50% over its predecessor. This upgrade is expected to result in faster app loading times and improved performance for Apple Arcade games. The device includes Siri AI capabilities and long-range microphones for voice commands without needing to press buttons. The new Apple TV 4K is priced at $299 and is scheduled for release on November 13.
Apple HomePod Mini 2
The HomePod mini 2 marks the first hardware update to Apple's smart speaker in six years. It features the S10 chip for enhanced speed and responsiveness, Sound Glow lighting, and will support Siri AI in a future update. Home theater capabilities are also included. While not yet available for preorder on Amazon, it can be purchased from other retailers.
iPhone Duo
Preorders for Apple's foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, are set to begin on October 16. Users can prepare their preorders on Apple's website by selecting configuration options and setting up trade-ins, allowing for a quicker checkout process once preorders officially open. Retailer links are also available for those who prefer not to order directly from Apple.
