Embark Studios has announced a notable success in its ongoing efforts to combat cheating and exploits within the cooperative shooter Arc Raiders. The development team confirmed that targeted measures have led to a significant reduction in item duplication exploits, a persistent issue that has plagued the game's economy.
In a recent update, Embark detailed its proactive approach to maintaining the integrity of the game's economy. "Like with anti-cheat, we are always working against duplication exploits," the studio stated in its latest patch notes. "We’re keeping a close eye on the game economy, and constantly catalogue, investigate and seek to counteract exploits." The studio highlighted recent fixes for specific duplication exploits, noting that these interventions have been effective and are continuously monitored for impact.
A key indicator of this success is a new graph shared by Embark, illustrating the percentage of players exhibiting an "unusually high 'profit per minute'". This metric saw a sharp increase around the beginning of June, potentially coinciding with a test of a ban on free loadouts. However, since then, the situation has improved dramatically. The percentage of players suspected of engaging in duplication exploits has fallen below 1%, reaching its lowest point in months.
Beyond addressing duplication, Embark also provided an update on its broader anti-cheat initiatives. The rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat has been completed and is now enforced for all players. The studio reported promising initial results from these efforts, stating that their anti-cheat team is becoming increasingly effective at identifying and taking action against cheaters. These anti-cheating measures have been a top priority for the development team over the past few months.
