Arc Raiders Outpost Furniture Unlocks Hundreds of Storage Slots

Players of the free-to-play cooperative shooter Arc Raiders have discovered that crafting furniture for their in-game outposts is not merely a cosmetic endeavor. This system, introduced with the recent Frozen Trail update, is crucial for unlocking hundreds of additional storage slots for items and weapons.

Initially, many players, including the original reporter, focused on upgrading outpost structures and research benches to access weapon modifications rather than engaging with the furniture crafting aspect. However, it has been revealed that furniture plays a direct role in managing inventory.

To begin utilizing this feature, players must reach level 18 to start the Sheltered Retreat project. The process involves photographing the Ruined Homestead location, donating materials such as planks and sheet metal, and completing a task involving damaging flying arcs. Once these steps are completed, players can access their outpost and begin recycling existing boxes for materials to craft furniture.

New furniture blueprints can be discovered throughout the game world, particularly in residential areas like Pendola Pass's Old Town. Each crafted furniture piece displays a specific number of storage slots. Players can then select "Decorate" to place items onto these pieces. Available furniture includes wall-mounted shelves and gun racks, as well as freestanding units, all capable of holding full item stacks.

Utilizing the three available outpost rooms and filling them with furniture can provide a substantial increase in overall storage capacity. For players needing to quickly retrieve items stored on furniture, a "clear all attached items" option is available.

Currently, the game does not allow for the rearrangement or alteration of outpost rooms once they have been constructed, making initial placement decisions important.
