Arc Raiders is back on the menu with its most significant update since launch, Frozen Trail, now available. This content drop introduces a host of new features and improvements designed to re-engage existing players and attract new ones to the extraction shooter.
Previously a popular title that saw a surge in player numbers, Arc Raiders experienced a decline over time. However, the launch of the Frozen Trail update on October 8 has coincided with a notable increase in player counts, with further growth anticipated over the weekend. This resurgence is further bolstered by a free-to-play period extending until Monday, October 12.
The Frozen Trail update brings Pendola Pass, a new map set in an icy environment that presents players with challenging new threats and tougher enemies. To combat these new adversaries, players will have access to new weapons like the Bantam and the Stiletto. The update also introduces the ability to modify and enhance existing weapons, turning them into amplified versions.
Beyond combat, the update adds new utility gadgets. A grappling hook facilitates environmental navigation, while a camera allows players to capture in-game scenery. Players can also now design their own outposts using hundreds of unlockable furniture pieces acquired through looting and upgrades.
