Players can once again team up with pop star Ariana Grande in Final Fantasy Resonance thanks to a new fan-made mod. Grande, who previously appeared as a pixelated character in the free-to-play mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, will not be featured in the upcoming HD-2D remake. Producer Keisuke Nakashima cited that Grande's character "would not fit within the vibe that we’ve created for Final Fantasy Resonance."

However, modders have disagreed with this creative decision. The FFR Vision Studio mod, as highlighted by Eurogamer, reintroduces Grande to the game, complete with her signature "Dangerous Woman" era bunny outfit. The mod also allows for the inclusion of other guest characters, such as Sora from Kingdom Hearts and 2B from Nier Automata.

These additions are currently available within the recently released demo for Final Fantasy Resonance. The demo allows players to carry their progress over to the full game, suggesting that characters included in the demo could potentially appear in the final release. Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
