Asa Germann, recognized for his role as Sam Riordan in the Amazon Prime Video series "Gen V," is reportedly in final negotiations to portray Warren Worthington III, also known as Angel, in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men film. This casting news follows the recent reveal of other actors joining the project, including Kit Connor as Cyclops and Sadie Sink as Jean Grey.

Angel is a foundational member of the X-Men, originating alongside characters like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, and Beast. His mutation grants him a pair of large, white, flight-capable wings. Germann's prior acting credits include a supporting part in "Scream 7." He had previously auditioned for the role of Cyclops before it was awarded to Connor.

This iteration of Angel will be the character's second appearance on the big screen. He was previously depicted by Ben Foster in 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand," where his mutation played a significant role in the film's narrative concerning a mutant cure. A darker, villainous version of the character, known as Archangel, was featured in "X-Men: Apocalypse," portrayed by Ben Hardy.

The X-Men film, directed by Jake Schreier, is slated for theatrical release on May 5, 2028. The confirmed cast includes Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, Christopher Abbott as Professor X/Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as White Queen/Emma Frost, Inde Navarette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm/Ororo Munroe, Connor as Cyclops, Sink as Jean Grey, and now, Germann as Angel. It remains to be seen whether Iceman and Beast will be included in the film's roster.
