Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, set to release in July for PC and consoles, is bringing significant visual upgrades to the PlayStation 5, including enhanced graphical modes and specialized rendering technology. The game will offer players on both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro a choice between Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced modes, targeting 60fps, 30fps, and 40fps respectively.

On the base PS5, these modes will render at an upscaled 4K resolution. The Performance mode incorporates standard ray tracing for global illumination, while Fidelity and Balanced modes utilize an extended ray tracing implementation for more complex lighting and reflections. These extended ray tracing effects will be present across all three modes on the PS5 Pro.

A notable improvement for the PS5 Pro version is the inclusion of dedicated strand-based hair rendering for protagonist Edward Kenway, allowing for more realistic and dynamic hair movement, even when wet. Furthermore, the PS5 Pro will leverage the console's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology for its upscaled 4K output, aiming for a sharper image.

Beyond graphical fidelity, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced introduces real-time weather simulation, a modernized water system, and other effects designed to increase immersion across all platforms. The game launches on July 9 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
