Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has received a title update, version 1.0.4, which aims to resolve a significant issue where player ships, known as the Jackdaw, could disappear after being upgraded while docked. This bug often left players stranded and unable to progress, effectively triggering an unexpected mutiny.
The update, which rolled out on July 16th, specifically notes the fix for "an issue where upgrading the Jackdaw while docked can cause it to disappear, leaving players without their ship." This addresses a potentially game-breaking problem that could leave players marooned and unable to continue their adventures in the Caribbean.
Beyond the critical ship bug, title update 1.0.4 also includes a range of other fixes. Players can expect improvements to "various localisation issues for Simplified Chinese, Italian and Arabic," as well as "multiple lighting issues when players are indoors or in caverns." Additionally, an issue where players could clip into the ship's hull while swimming has been resolved.
For PC players, cutscene framerate issues have been addressed, with the update ensuring they are no longer locked at 30 FPS when custom graphics settings are applied. The patch also rectifies a bug that could prevent players from harpooning if they initiated boarding a ship immediately after selecting the rowboat option for shark hunting.
In terms of environmental changes, the weather system has been tweaked to increase the frequency of clear skies and eliminate a bug that could cause perpetual fog. A more minor, yet still notable, fix addresses an audio issue where the death of a single enemy could incorrectly sound like multiple bodies falling.
The developers have also acknowledged that some employees at Ubisoft's Barcelona studio are facing layoffs, with protests occurring alongside Spanish unions.
