Assassin's Creed Franchise Update Details Valhalla New Game Plus, Codename Hexe, and Future Remakes

Ubisoft has issued a comprehensive fall update regarding its Assassin's Creed franchise, offering details on both current titles and future projects. The update covers enhancements for existing games, insights into upcoming titles, and clarifies the status of potential remakes.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Enhancements

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will receive a highly anticipated New Game Plus mode on November 5. This feature will allow players to restart their journey while retaining progression items and character levels from previous playthroughs. Accompanying New Game Plus, the update introduces several new features:

  • An optional progression system that unifies Gear, Runes, and Masteries into Eivor's overall Power.
  • New runes, achievements, a stash system, and fresh rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows.
  • Mithril, a new resource for upgrading Divine Gear and enhancing runes.
  • The introduction of Divine Gear quality for all in-game items.

This update follows the recent addition of New Game Plus to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Future Projects: Codename Invictis and Hexe

Development continues on Codename Invictis, a PvP multiplayer title. Ubisoft has been incorporating player feedback, aiming to better integrate core Assassin's Creed pillars into its multiplayer framework. The game is reportedly evolving in a direction that aligns with these goals while maintaining its multiplayer focus.

For the next single-player installment, Codename Hexe, Ubisoft plans to share major updates in 2027. Originally announced in 2022, Codename Hexe is set in the 17th-century Holy Roman Empire, with the era's witch hunts expected to be a central theme.

No New Remakes Currently in Development

Following the recent release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft has stated that no other Assassin's Creed remakes are actively in development. The company's development teams are currently focused on new titles featuring original settings and stories. However, Ubisoft acknowledged the fan desire to revisit older titles and indicated that opportunities to bring back classic games will continue to be explored.

Assassin's Creed Netflix Series and 20th Anniversary

Production on the live-action Assassin's Creed series for Netflix is nearing completion in Rome. Award-winning composer Hannah Peel, known for her work on projects like Insomnia and Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, is composing the series' score.

Ubisoft is also preparing for the 20th anniversary of the Assassin's Creed franchise in 2027. While specific details remain under wraps, the company has announced plans for a year filled with reveals, updates, rewards, and community events.
