Insider reports indicate that development on the upcoming Assassin's Creed title, codenamed Hexe, has encountered delays and is now targeting a 2028 release. This marks a shift from its previously anticipated 2027 launch.

Hexe, first revealed by Ubisoft in 2022, is described as having a more mystical tone and is set in the 17th-century Holy Roman Empire. According to reports, the game's development has faced challenges, including the departure of several key developers.

Beyond Hexe, insider information has also surfaced regarding two potential new Assassin's Creed games. One project, codenamed Mars, is reportedly set in Ancient Rome and aims for a traditional Assassin's Creed experience. The other, Assassin's Creed Pocket, is said to be a mobile title inspired by Valhalla's Mastery Challenges, with a setting in Jerusalem. These projects have not yet been officially confirmed by Ubisoft.

Insider Gaming reports that if Hexe is delayed to 2028, the Mars project might not see a release or even an announcement until 2029 or 2030 at the earliest. Ubisoft has stated that more information about Hexe will be shared next year.
