Ubisoft is allegedly developing two new Assassin's Creed titles: one set in ancient Rome, codenamed 'Mars', and a mobile spin-off set in Jerusalem, codenamed 'Pocket'. This information comes from YouTuber Xj0nathan, who cited two sources with access to Ubisoft's internal systems.
The mobile game, 'Pocket', is described as having gameplay mechanics similar to Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Mastery Challenge and a visual style reminiscent of the recent Prince of Persia. The protagonist's mentor in this title is reportedly named Myriam.
Insider Gaming also reports hearing these codenames but could not independently verify them, citing recent turbulence within the franchise following the departure of former Assassin's Creed boss Marc-Alexis Côté. The outlet's sources previously suggested that Assassin's Creed Hexe, the next main series installment, may have been internally delayed to 2028, though other reports indicate a potential 2025 release.
If the 'Mars' project moves forward, details are not expected to emerge until 2029 or 2030. While Assassin's Creed has previously visited Rome in 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, that iteration was set during the Renaissance, not antiquity. This news follows a recent Ubisoft statement asserting that no remakes of past Assassin's Creed games are currently in development.
