Two critically acclaimed entries in the Assassin's Creed series, Valhalla and Mirage, will be added to Amazon's cloud gaming service, Luna, later this month. These additions are part of Amazon's monthly offering of games for Prime members.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which launched as one of the first titles for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, embraces the series' modern direction as an expansive open-world RPG. Players step into the role of a Viking raider in 9th-century England, becoming embroiled in the age-old conflict between the Assassins and Templars. Polygon's review described Valhalla's narrative as a story about faith, honor, and family, though it noted this was often found within a vast world filled with combat and side activities.

Assassin's Creed Mirage, a prequel to Valhalla, shifts the focus back towards the series' stealth-focused origins. Set in 9th-century Baghdad, the game follows Basim, a thief who gradually infiltrates the Hidden Ones and becomes a skilled assassin while uncovering personal mysteries. A Polygon review praised Mirage for its tight design, highlighting its emphasis on stealth and puzzle-like assassinations within a more focused, layered world, calling it one of the series' best entries.

While Amazon announced that both Valhalla and Mirage are coming to Luna this month, an exact release date has not yet been specified. Other titles currently available on Luna include Control, Hollow Knight, and the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy.

In addition to Luna's offerings, Amazon Prime members can also acquire nine free PC games throughout August. Unlike games offered through services like PlayStation Plus, these titles are provided via redeemable codes for PC storefronts such as the Epic Games Store and GOG, meaning members will retain ownership even if their Prime subscription lapses.

  • Hiveswap Friendsim (GOG) — available now
  • Pyramids and Aliens: Escape Room (GOG) — available now
