Koei Tecmo has unveiled further details for Attack on Titan 3, the latest video game adaptation of the popular manga series. The game, initially revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026, is slated to adapt the complete story of the original manga and is scheduled for release this winter. A 45-minute presentation on July 1 provided an in-depth look at the game, including a new gameplay trailer.

Unlike its predecessors, which covered only portions of the narrative, Attack on Titan 3 will encompass the entire manga storyline. The game will feature a mission-based main story, a staple of the series developed by Omega Force. A new open-world mode will also be introduced, allowing players to explore the game world freely. The signature ODM gear gameplay, enabling players to traverse the environment with grappling wires, has undergone adjustments for a more fluid experience.

Beyond confronting titans, the game will incorporate opportunities for character interaction. Players will create their own original character rather than controlling the series protagonist, Eren Yeager, and will participate in key events alongside the established cast.

The release window for Attack on Titan 3 points to a launch sometime between late 2026 and early 2027. In a surprise announcement, it was confirmed that MAPPA, the animation studio responsible for Attack on Titan: The Final Season and other acclaimed series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, will be animating the game's opening cinematic. Arifumi Imai, known for his work on Attack on Titan's action sequences, will direct this opening. However, Koei Tecmo specified that the cinematic will not be available at the game's launch but will be added in a future update.

Attack on Titan 3 is set to launch this winter for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
