Hours before its planned July 23 launch, the official Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game account announced that the Xbox version of the title has been delayed. The fighting game is now slated for release on Xbox Series X|S sometime before September 3, attributed to "unforeseen circumstances on a backend feature." This last-minute postponement comes despite promotional efforts for the game's launch occurring less than 24 hours prior.
The issues extend beyond the Xbox platform. Players on Nintendo Switch are currently unable to access cross-play functionality, and the only available language option on the console is English. Furthermore, the Deluxe Edition of the game is also missing from the Switch eShop. While Paramount Games has stated these problems will be addressed, no specific timeline has been provided.
Despite these launch day complications, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is being released on PC and PlayStation 5. The game is noted as a treat for fans, seemingly capturing the essence of characters from both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
The standard edition of the game is priced at $30, with the Deluxe Edition available for $50. The Deluxe Edition includes the Year 1 pass, which will introduce characters like Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a fifth character to be determined by player vote, along with a digital art book. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also reportedly in development.
