Avengers: Doomsday Promoted With Baseball-Themed Crossover During World Series

Marvel Studios unveiled a novel promotional spot for Avengers: Doomsday during Game 1 of the 2026 World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays. The advertisement featured a crossover between the Avengers and Major League Baseball, set on Earth-828 at Ebbets Field.

The promo depicted Mr. Fantastic, wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers cap, throwing a stretched first pitch while The Thing offered encouragement to MLB players including Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Bryce Harper, Randy Arozarena, and Junior Caminero, who were shown on the sidelines. The scene was interrupted by an attack from Dr. Doom, with interspersed clips from the film.

This integration into live sporting events highlights the continued use of major broadcasts like the World Series for film promotion. Such events are noted as valuable platforms for debuting trailers and promoting movies due to their ability to draw a large, actively watching audience in an era dominated by on-demand content.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers, and Robert Downey Jr. will portray Doctor Doom, appearing to abduct heroes in the film. Reports indicate that Downey Jr. will also appear as Tony Stark in a future attraction at Disney California Adventure's Avengers Campus. The plot details of the film remain largely undisclosed, with even cast members reportedly having limited knowledge of the full story.

Interest in the film appears to be substantial, with ticket pre-sales reportedly exceeding those of the summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel has advised audiences to prepare by reviewing a list of 15 connected movies and TV series prior to the release of Doomsday.
