Baldur's Gate 3 players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S can now access a robust cheat menu thanks to the official approval of the Cheater’s Menu mod by Larian Studios. This mod, originally created by For_Kiramay, introduces a new spell into the player's hotbar. Upon casting this spell, a cheat menu appears on-screen, providing over 300 options across ten different tabs.
These options encompass a wide range of gameplay alterations. Players can instantly heal their party, respec characters without cost, or spawn any item within the game. Furthermore, the mod allows for manipulation of dice rolls, ensuring success or failure as desired. Other features include granting invulnerability via God Mode, unlocking all waypoints for fast travel, instantly ending combat encounters, and preventing crime reactions for easier thievery. The mod also provides access to all 22 Illithid abilities on demand.
Console players previously lacked the extensive modding capabilities available on PC, which included Script Extender console commands and Cheat Engine tables. The Cheater’s Menu mod addresses this by offering a unified and comprehensive toolkit for console players seeking to modify their experience. This allows for a more accessible playthrough, the ability to jump to late-game content, or even to intentionally increase the game's difficulty by modifying enemy stats.
To install the mod, players can navigate to the in-game mod menu from Baldur’s Gate 3's main screen, locate “Cheater’s Menu,” and enable it. Once activated, the spell can be cast from the hotbar to access the cheat functions. While experience points gained apply to the entire party, selected cheats are active for the character currently being controlled. The mod also allows for negative modifiers to dice rolls, such as a -40 option, to significantly increase the challenge.
In addition to the Cheater’s Menu, Larian has also approved other mods for console players, including new subclass options like Dragon Patron for warlocks and Spell Thief, which allows players to learn spells by observing them. These additions expand the modding possibilities for console versions of Baldur's Gate 3.
