A new mod for Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 allows players to experience the acclaimed RPG from a true third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective. Developed by modder Relysia and available on Nexus Mods, this modification aims to bring a different visual approach to the game.
The mod features a camera that remains closely attached to the player character, incorporating dynamic field of view adjustments during movement and smooth transitions when crouching. While the camera typically stays in this third-person view, it temporarily reverts to the game's standard perspective during specific actions such as spell targeting, jumping, or inspecting elements, automatically returning to the over-the-shoulder mode once the action concludes.
The mod's implementation aims for a natural appearance, with the camera following multiple characters effectively. Users can also customize various camera settings, including its position, field of view, and offset while standing or crouching, offering a range of options for players to tailor the experience.
This third-person camera mod can be combined with other Baldur's Gate 3 modifications, such as those that add new character endings, alter companion quests, or introduce custom campaigns.
