Xbox Game Pass is adding Battlefield 6 to its library in October 2026, exactly one year after its initial release. The popular shooter, which was the best-selling game of 2025, will be available for subscribers starting October 13.
While Battlefield 6's campaign was noted as enjoyable but somewhat unpolished, its core multiplayer modes, particularly on larger maps, are considered stellar. This addition places the longtime rival of Call of Duty on the same platform as its competitor, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is also launching this month. However, the latest Call of Duty sequel will not be available on Game Pass at its launch due to Xbox's current restructuring.

Notable Indie Releases
Beyond the headline addition of Battlefield 6, the month's lineup includes several promising indie games. Echo Weaver is a time-loop-based metroidvania that encourages players to use knowledge gained from previous runs to progress. Neon Abyss 2 offers a cyberpunk action roguelike experience with online co-op for up to four players. Chained Beasts is a co-op gladiator roguelike where participants must fight enemies while physically tethered together. Forever Ago, a narrative adventure focusing on life's unexpected turns, is also anticipated by some.
Additionally, Valor Mortis, a Soulslike set during the Napoleonic Wars developed by the creator of Ghostrunner, is set to launch. The reception of this title will hinge on whether its gameplay effectively captures the essence of its premise without merely imitating the FromSoftware formula.
