Electronic Arts has released Battlefield 6 update 1.4.1.5, a quality-of-life patch aimed at improving the game's reliability and gameplay experience. A significant focus of this update is the resolution of a peculiar crashing issue that affected some players using Nvidia GPUs. The problem manifested in several scenarios, including changing attachments on the SOR-300SC carbine, using custom server search, and notably, when playing on maps featuring large bodies of water.
This fix arrives as the game has recently introduced Tsuru Reef, its largest map to date, which heavily features naval combat and extensive water elements. The timing of the update is crucial, as the new map's design previously exacerbated the crashing problems for affected players.
The Nvidia-specific crashes were reportedly linked to a recent Nvidia driver update. In response to player reports, the Battlefield Communications team had previously advised users to roll back to Nvidia driver version 596.49, particularly noting that owners of RTX 50-series GPUs were disproportionately impacted. With the release of update 1.4.1.5, players who previously reverted their drivers are now advised to ensure their graphics card drivers are up to date.
Beyond the Nvidia crash fix, update 1.4.1.5 includes several other improvements. The patch addresses enhancements to deployment, aiming, water transitions, and vehicle behavior. Additionally, various UI, loadout, and customization issues have been resolved. The update also incorporates polish for maps and the Portal community creation mode, tackling visual, collection, interaction, and audio problems across multiple maps and within Portal experiences. The update was launched on Tuesday, August 4.
