Best Buy is currently running a promotion that offers a free $10 digital gift card with preorders of select upcoming video games. This deal aims to recapture the spirit of earlier preorder incentives that were more common across retailers.
Four titles are currently eligible for this $10 gift card bonus: The Blood of Dawnwalker, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, EA Sports FC 27, and EA Sports NHL 27. These offers come as game prices have increased in the current console generation.
The Blood of Dawnwalker, an open-world action-RPG developed by former creative staff from The Witcher 3, is set in 14th-century Carpathian Mountains where players assume the role of a half-human, half-vampire fighting against a vampire takeover. It is scheduled for release on September 3 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will allow players to engage in aerial combat through military missions. Depending on the chosen edition, it launches on either September 29 or October 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
EA Sports FC 27, the latest installment in EA's annual soccer series, promises enhanced realism and a new Clubs experience called The Grounds. This feature, which allows players to connect with and recruit new club members, will not be available on last-generation consoles. The game is set for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
NHL 27, the upcoming ice hockey simulation, will feature all 32 NHL arenas, improved crowd graphics, and real-world goal songs. Preorders for NHL 27, launching on September 11 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, will also include a player pack, 500 NHL Points, and a WOC 2XP Boost.
In addition to the gift card promotion, Best Buy is offering a separate preorder bonus for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Customers who preorder this title will receive a free steelbook case. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is slated for release on October 23.
