Bethesda has issued a statement to quell concerns following recent Xbox layoffs, asserting that the studio's major projects, including The Elder Scrolls 6, remain on track. The developer also confirmed that plans for an Oblivion Remastered are still in place and will see optimizations potentially shared across platforms.

In response to questions from YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Bethesda clarified that the recent workforce reductions at Xbox, which affected numerous developers, will not alter the development roadmap for The Elder Scrolls 6. "The roadmap [for TES6] is unaffected," the studio stated, offering little further detail on the highly anticipated title.

Regarding Oblivion Remastered, a project that had seen fewer updates since its initial patches last year, Bethesda confirmed active development. While the team focused on optimizations for a Switch release in August, these improvements are intended to be brought to other platforms, including consoles and PC. "The team working on remasters is focused on the Switch 2 launch," a Bethesda representative explained, "but take heart: that version has optimizations we hope to bring to console/PC."

Bethesda also reiterated its commitment to more open communication with its fanbase. The studio stated that its increased transparency is not due to external pressure but is a deliberate shift in approach. "All of our fans and plenty of creators have been asking for us to lay out our road map for a long time," Bethesda noted. "As bits of info or announcements come out individually, they get lost in the larger picture of all we're doing as a studio. So, we felt it was best to do it all at once and paint a clear picture for everyone. This is a shift in our approach to communication that Bethesda Game Studios has been contemplating for some time now."

This communication strategy aims to provide fans with a clearer overview of the studio's plans, preventing individual announcements from being lost amidst broader studio activities. The studio suggested that it is actively monitoring fan feedback and intends to be more forthcoming with information moving forward.
