Bethesda has announced plans to bring optimizations developed for Oblivion Remastered's Nintendo Switch 2 version to other platforms. This comes more than a year after the game's last patch and amid community requests for further updates.

The studio acknowledged player feedback regarding the need for an additional patch via X (formerly Twitter), stating that they are investigating the transfer of improvements made for the Switch 2 release. "The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able," Bethesda wrote. An official date for these updates was not provided.

Oblivion Remastered, which launched last year, received initial acclaim but saw limited post-release support. Following its release, only two patches, 1.1 and 1.2, were issued in the months afterward. Since then, the game has continued to exhibit performance issues and a lack of quality-of-life features, leaving players uncertain about its future.

This period of silence had led to concerns within the community. Bethesda's official Discord server maintained a channel for Oblivion Remastered suggestions, which reportedly shifted from requests for new content and improvements to pleas for the studio not to abandon the game. The latest announcement suggests that these community concerns have been heard.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is considered a classic by many, and the prospect of further optimizations aims to address its ongoing technical shortcomings and enhance the player experience on existing platforms.
