Bill Skarsgard, known for his roles in 'It' and 'John Wick,' has been cast as the lead in Hideo Kojima's new action-espionage game, titled 'Physint.' The announcement comes from Kojima Productions, confirming the project's partnership with Xbox.
Originally developed with PlayStation, the game saw PlayStation Studios withdraw from the project in June. Following a three-month search for a new partner, Kojima Productions reached an agreement with Xbox, expanding an existing relationship that also includes the experimental horror game 'OD.'
Kojima has described 'Physint' as a title that aims to blur the lines between games and movies, drawing talent from both industries. While specific details about the game's story and gameplay remain undisclosed, Kojima stated during the Xbox at Tokyo Game Show broadcast that the project is "unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment." Skarsgard will portray the player character, alongside previously announced cast members Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe.
Kojima Productions and Xbox have also indicated plans to explore film and television projects together. A release date for 'Physint' has not yet been announced, but it is expected to launch after 'OD,' which is currently further along in development.
