Billy Boyd, best known for his portrayal of Peregrin "Pippin" Took in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy, is set to appear in the upcoming video game "There Are No Ghosts at the Grand." Boyd will voice the character Robert C. MacBrushy in the musical mystery game, which was announced during Gamescom.
"There Are No Ghosts at the Grand" tasks players with inheriting and restoring a dilapidated English hotel while simultaneously confronting the spectral inhabitants. The game's description highlights its unique approach to character interaction and narrative, stating, "Each mysterious character you meet or choose to help has their own story and song waiting to be uncovered. From spooky ska to wartime jazz to skater punk, each song is uniquely theirs… and sometimes surprisingly so."
Boyd, who also has a background as a musician fronting the band Beecake, will join other performers in the game, including Alex Brightman, an actor recognized for his Tony-nominated roles in Broadway productions of "Beetlejuice" and "School of Rock."
"There Are No Ghosts at the Grand" is slated for release later this year. A free demo of the game is currently available on Steam.
