Blade Runner 2099 Trailer Reveals Replicant Mystery and Key Roles for Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh

Prime Video has released a new trailer for its upcoming limited series, Blade Runner 2099, shedding more light on the central mystery surrounding missing Replicants and detailing the roles of stars Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh. The trailer debuted at New York Comic Con 2026, where attendees were also shown a new poster for the series.

Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049 and 80 years after the original film, the series is scheduled to premiere on November 25. Schafer stars as Cora and Yeoh as Olwen. An official description from Prime Video outlines the premise: "Fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora, a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant days from dying, she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse a fragile city."

The new trailer expands on details previously teased in July. Yeoh's character, Olwen, notes that 10 female and 18 male Replicants have gone missing in the past year. Schafer's character is heard discussing a mysterious individual known as "he," who reportedly "knows the cure for all Replicants."

Blade Runner 2099 is set to release all eight of its episodes on November 25, a binge-release strategy that will allow viewers to stream the entire season on its premiere date. The franchise, which includes Ridley Scott's 1982 original and Denis Villeneuve's 2017 sequel, has a significant following, contributing to considerable anticipation for the new series.
