BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment's fan convention, is set to return in 2026 for the first time in three years. The event is slated to feature major reveals and updates for the company's core franchises, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and StarCraft.

Given Blizzard's history of reintroducing older titles and re-branding existing ones, the company has indicated that a wide range of announcements are possible. Past instances include StarCraft Remastered, Warcraft 3 Reforged, Diablo 2: Resurrected, and the rebranding of Overwatch 2 to Overwatch.

Attendees and remote viewers can anticipate special in-game cosmetics and other bonuses tied to the 2026 event. Blizzard has announced BlizzCon-themed skins, mounts, and in-game items for titles such as World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Overwatch. Virtual bundles will be available, allowing players to purchase digital goods for individual games or a collection of all five featured titles. One notable cosmetic example includes an outfit for Overwatch's Mei themed after the Warcraft character Arthas.

Speculation surrounding a new StarCraft project has intensified in the weeks leading up to BlizzCon 2026. Reports suggest that Blizzard Entertainment may be reviving the real-time strategy series, potentially with assistance from Korean publisher Nexon. Clues discovered on the official StarCraft website have fueled these rumors, hinting at a possible follow-up to StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void.
