Blood Bowl 3 currency will transfer to its Warhammer Blood Bowl successor

Players of Blood Bowl 3 will not lose their unspent in-game currency when the game is replaced by Warhammer Blood Bowl later this year. Slitherine, the new publisher, has confirmed that all purchased cosmetics, Warpstone, and teams will transfer to the new title, which is currently in beta.

Warhammer Blood Bowl will replace Blood Bowl 3 and is being published by Slitherine, taking over from Focus Home Interactive. Players who own Blood Bowl 3 will receive Warhammer Blood Bowl for free, with their accounts carrying over. This includes any unspent Warpstone, a currency used for purchasing cosmetics and new teams within Blood Bowl 3.

While players can rest assured their Warpstone won't be lost, the handling of unlocking new teams in Warhammer Blood Bowl is still under consideration. A Slitherine representative indicated that the system might revert to a model similar to Blood Bowl 2, where additional teams were sold as downloadable content.

Warhammer Blood Bowl is currently available for playtesting in a beta phase. Those interested can request access via its Steam page. Early impressions of the beta suggest an improvement over Blood Bowl 3, with quality-of-life enhancements such as the ability to save and quit mid-match and a new seven-a-side Rumble Mode. UI improvements, like a tooltip displaying the effects of weather conditions, have also been noted as welcome changes.
