Developer Rebel Wolves has released the first post-launch patch for their Witcher-inspired vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. The update tackles several issues, including problems with blocked quest progression and general controller behavior on PC. The developer has also made adjustments to controller dead zones and input issues experienced during sprinting.

One notable fix addresses an issue where the NPC Farkas would refuse to speak to players if they had killed nearby non-player characters, making it impossible to progress a major quest. This has been resolved, allowing players to proceed regardless of their actions towards other NPCs.

The patch also includes a fix for the tutorial, ensuring that the player's brother, Lunka, will no longer get lost. Additionally, a blacksmith NPC involved in a specific quest has reportedly "learned how to craft a certain holy sword," though it is unclear if this is a bug fix or a new feature.

Despite these improvements, Rebel Wolves continues to work on addressing more significant technical problems. Fixes for game stuttering, PlayStation button mapping, and shader compilation issues are still in development. Reports from players indicate ongoing challenges with these aspects of the game.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently available on PC. While the game has been described as a very good RPG, some players are already seeking to alleviate time-sensitive mechanics through mods, and cutscenes have been noted as being capped at 30fps.
