Bloodborne, FromSoftware's acclaimed action-RPG, continues to demonstrate significant player engagement and sales success over a decade after its initial release. According to Rhys Elliott, head of market analyst at Alinea Analytics, the game has sold more than 251,000 copies this year alone. This surge brings Bloodborne's estimated total sales to approximately 10.4 million copies, generating an estimated $317 million in revenue.

Beyond direct sales, Bloodborne also saw substantial activity through PlayStation Plus, with over half a million players engaging with the game in October. Elliott noted a trend of players engaging with multiple FromSoftware titles, observing that 12 percent of those playing Bloodborne in October also played Elden Ring, 6 percent played Dark Souls 3, and 5 percent played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Despite its enduring popularity, Bloodborne remains a PlayStation exclusive and is only playable on PS4 and via backward compatibility on PS5. While backward compatibility offers smoother frame pacing, it provides minimal technical enhancements. Reports have also emerged that Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the Demon's Souls remake, had pitched a Bloodborne remake to FromSoftware. However, the pitch was reportedly turned down by the original developer, with FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki reportedly cherishing the game and preferring not to have it remade by another studio.
