This weekend, Steam is offering players the opportunity to experience Borderlands 4 and four other distinct titles for free. The promotion runs from September 11 through September 14, providing a window for gamers to try out a variety of genres, including shooters, strategy, racing, and medieval combat.
Borderlands 4 is particularly highlighted as it coincides with a major content update. The Story Pack 2, FL4K and the Last Resort, alongside a new Vault Hunter named Loveless the Hacker, launched on September 10. Loveless is described as the game's take on Borderlands 2's Zer0, emphasizing stealth, sniping, melee attacks, status effects, and featuring a cyberworm companion.
The other free offerings present a diverse range of gameplay experiences. Surviving Mars: Relaunched invites players to manage a colony on the Red Planet in a sci-fi city-building simulation. For racing enthusiasts, F1 25: 2026 Season Edition offers a Formula 1 racing simulation.
Crime Boss: Rockay City, a first-person crime shooter centered on heists and urban takeover in a fictional city inspired by Miami, is also available. Rounding out the selection is Mordhau, a medieval multiplayer combat game known for its large-scale melee battles.
Should players enjoy any of these titles during the free weekend, they can purchase them on Steam with notable discounts. Borderlands 4 is available for $34.99 (50% off its $69.99 price).
