Pokémon Go is ushering in the autumn season with its Fall Marathon, a limited-time event that includes the debut of a new ghostly Pokémon, Bramblin. This haunted tumbleweed is available for players to catch, but its appearance is tied to specific in-game activities.
Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek Event Details
The Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek event kicked off on October 13 at 10 AM local time and will conclude on October 19 at 8 PM local time. During this period, certain Pokémon, including Electrike, Doduo, and Blitzle, will have increased spawn rates in the wild. Additionally, Hisuian Growlithe, Galarian Ponyta, and other Pokémon will appear more frequently when using Incense. The event also features bonuses such as a higher chance of encountering shiny Electrike and extended Incense durations. Specific Go Pass milestones offer further benefits, including a two-hour Incense duration at Tier 1 and increased Mega Energy gains for Electrike or Manectric when set as a buddy after a Mega Evolution of Manectric.
How to Encounter Bramblin
Bramblin can be encountered in Pokémon Go through two primary methods during the Fall Marathon. The first is by activating an Incense, which will attract more Pokémon, including Bramblin, as you move. Incenses can be purchased from the in-game shop for 40 PokéCoins each or in a bundle of eight for 250 PokéCoins, and they are also obtainable as rewards for completing certain Research tasks. The second way to find Bramblin is by reaching Rank 30 on the Fall Marathon Go Pass before the event concludes. Completing the Research task 'Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy' also offers a chance to encounter Bramblin.
Evolving Bramblin into Brambleghast
To evolve Bramblin into its evolved form, Brambleghast, players must meet specific requirements. This involves walking 20 kilometers with Bramblin set as your buddy Pokémon and spending 50 Bramblin candies. To help accumulate the necessary candies, trainers are encouraged to catch and transfer as many Bramblin as possible, continuing to use Incense throughout the event. Converting any existing Rare Candies into Bramblin candies can also expedite the process. Once the walking distance and candy requirements are met, the evolution can be initiated.
Shiny Bramblin Availability
Currently, the shiny variant of Bramblin is not available in Pokémon Go. Niantic has not yet announced when a shiny Bramblin might be introduced, but it is expected to be added in a future event.
