Image Comics has announced Roam, a new ongoing series from the award-winning team of writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Cliff Chiang, best known for their collaboration on the acclaimed series Paper Girls. This marks their first new series together in over a decade. Roam is set to debut in comic stores in February 2027.
The official description for Roam states, "In the future, everyone gets to be a superhero… but only while you’re young." The series explores "the power and peril that comes with new adulthood" and is described as "a timeless adventure about the quest we each take in life to finally find our team."
In addition to Vaughan and Chiang, the creative team includes colorist Matt Wilson and letterer Jared Fletcher. Vaughan expressed his excitement, noting that Chiang has already illustrated the first several issues and praising the "breathtakingly original world" created by the team. Chiang echoed this sentiment, calling the collaboration "unlike anything Brian and I have done before" and highlighting the "electric feeling of collaboration."
The first issue of Roam is a 50-page release. Readers can pre-order the series at their local comic shops.
