Developer juicce has announced Brokensides, a psychological horror beat 'em up with a unique premise. Players will control a sea bunny recently released from prison after committing a "Cardinal Crime." The game blends genre conventions in a surreal and desolate world.
Brokensides features a striking visual style, combining old-school wireframe 3D, improperly rendered models, and ASCII art to create a distinct aesthetic. The environments are open and barren, populated by 2D characters and enemies with glass bodies that shatter upon impact.
The combat appears to be in the vein of streetbrawling, with players able to perform actions such as dropkicks and suplexes. Enemies break apart into crystalline pieces when struck, adding a visceral element to the fighting. The game's Steam page also mentions that players can "pose and sit wherever you like!! Even if you don't deserve it!!" as they explore the world.
