Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone are set to receive their fifth season of content on July 23, Activision announced. The update, which typically goes live across all platforms at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST, will introduce new weapons, a familiar multiplayer map, and conclude the Black Ops 7 storyline within Zombies.

Season 5 will feature the return of the Spectre operator, an assassin previously seen in Black Ops 3 and 4. Spectre is prominently featured in the season's official artwork, often depicted dual-wielding submachine guns, suggesting these weapons will be among the new additions. Another operator in the artwork is shown with a light machine gun, hinting at further weapon variety.

Multiplayer offerings for the season are expected to include new maps and game modes, alongside a new season of Ranked Play with associated rewards. The developer Treyarch has teased the return of the Frequency map, a 6v6 environment set in a mountain-based covert listening center, originally from Black Ops 4.

The final chapter of the Black Ops 7 Zombies narrative is slated to arrive with the midseason "Reloaded" update, anticipated around the end of August. While this marks the conclusion of the main storyline, future seasons may still feature smaller-scale Zombies content such as survival modes or new areas within existing maps.

Specific details for Warzone's Season 5 content remain undisclosed, but players can anticipate limited-time game modes, new events, and adjustments to the weapon pool. Promotional art for the season showcases a sky filled with drones carrying crates, which could indicate a new killstreak or a special care package delivery system.
