The upcoming PlayStation re-releases of Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 may be missing several features that were present in the original titles, according to leaked Trophy lists. The appearance of these lists online typically signals an imminent launch.
Black Ops 1's Trophy list suggests the absence of Wager Matches and Theater Mode. In the original game, Wager Matches included side modes such as Gun Game and One in the Chamber, where players wagered in-game currency. The associated "In The Money" Trophy, requiring five Wager Match wins, appears to be gone. Theater Mode, which allowed players to record, review, and edit match footage, is also likely absent, indicated by the removal of the "Date Night" Trophy that required inviting a friend to view a recorded clip.
While it is possible that modes like Gun Game and One in the Chamber could still be included outside of the Wager Matches format, their removal from the Trophy list is a strong indicator of their exclusion. The absence of Theater Mode is further suggested by the lack of trophies related to its functionality.
For Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the leaked Trophy list indicates the removal of League Play, the game's competitive multiplayer playlist. The "Big Leagues" Trophy, which required winning five League Play matches, is absent, suggesting this competitive mode will not be part of the re-release.
These omissions have led to speculation about other features, such as the Emblem Editor, potentially not making the cut. The re-releases are confirmed to be ports rather than remasters, which could also mean a lack of native PlayStation 5 support, such as DualSense haptic feedback or 120Hz frame rate options.
Despite the potential feature cuts, reports indicate that at least one individual has already obtained the Platinum Trophy for both Black Ops re-releases on PS4, a feat only achievable through console modding which bypasses security measures.
