Sony has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be the headline title for the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup in July 2026. The 2023 iteration of Modern Warfare 3, which received criticism for its campaign, will be available to subscribers starting July 7.
Despite a mixed reception, the inclusion of Modern Warfare 3 is timely, offering players a chance to experience its content before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23. IGN's review of the campaign had previously scored it a 4/10, describing it as "underbaked, rehashed, and cobbled together from multiplayer parts."
The monthly PlayStation Plus offerings for July will include two additional titles alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. These games will be accessible to subscribers from July 7 until August 3.
For the King 2, a tactical role-playing game that originally launched on PC in 2023, will also be available. The sequel, inspired by tabletop combat, features roguelite elements and a procedurally generated map. IGN awarded it a 6/10 in its review.
The third title in the lineup is CrossCode, a 2D action JRPG featuring 16-bit-style visuals. The game combines traditional dungeon adventuring with RPG combat and loot mechanics.
