The open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has been extended by 12 hours, Activision announced. Originally scheduled to conclude today, September 1, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, the beta will now run until 10 PM PT / 1 AM ET on September 2.
In addition to the extended playtime, the developer is enabling double progression XP and double weapon XP for the duration of the extended beta period. This offers players additional incentive to reach the level cap of 30, which rewards participants with a special weapon blueprint.
Following the beta, the next opportunity for players to experience Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer will be at the game's official launch on October 23. The single-player campaign will be available a week earlier for those who preorder the title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. This marks the first time a Call of Duty title has appeared on a Nintendo platform since Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013. The game will also be skipping last-generation consoles, a move also last seen with Ghosts. The launch of Modern Warfare 4 is set to occur just 34 days before Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on November 19.
