Infinity Ward has extended the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, offering players additional time to experience the upcoming first-person shooter. The beta will now conclude at 10 p.m. PT tonight, which translates to 1 a.m. ET tomorrow morning.
The studio announced the extension via its X account, stating, "A little more time on the clock. We see you grinding out those Beta Rewards and camos, so we’re giving you some extra time. The #MW4 Open Beta is extended until 10 PM PT tonight. 2XP + Double Weapon XP stay active until close. Enjoy!"
This extension comes after Infinity Ward has already made several updates to the beta. Recent changes have aimed to address player feedback regarding time-to-kill (TTK) and weapon balance, with further adjustments having been pushed to testers last week.
The beta period has been notable for several reasons, including a fan-controversy surrounding a character's haircut and the inclusion of a single-player mission, a first for a Call of Duty beta.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for release on October 23. Players who preorder the game will gain early access to the campaign starting October 16. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It has also been confirmed that the game will not be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
