Capcom has indicated a high likelihood of a sequel to its recent title, Pragmata, driven by strong sales performance and the appeal of its main character, Diana. The Japanese company's Q1 2026 financial report revealed that Pragmata has sold 2.5 million units since its release earlier this year. This performance, alongside the success of Resident Evil Requiem which has already sold 8 million units, contributed to Capcom's operating profit of ¥41.1 billion ($251 million) for the quarter ended June.

According to Bloomberg, Capcom corporate officer Yoshikazu Shimauchi stated that Pragmata's momentum exceeded internal expectations. He further noted that pre-release marketing and the appeal of the main character, Diana, were significant factors in the game's success in both local and international markets. This sentiment aligns with previous comments from Pragmata director Yonghee Cho, who expressed a desire to work on a sequel, and Capcom USA Chief Operating Officer Rob Dyer, who suggested the game could become a franchise.

The positive reception and sales figures suggest that Capcom's willingness to invest in a unique and potentially risky concept has paid off, contrasting with trends where some publishers may lean towards more traditional, crowd-pleasing titles.
